The all-metal construction used is incredibly robust, making the microphone ideal for normal professional use while providing a high level of resistance to radio frequency interference.
The microphone features a select pair of ½" true condenser capsules, configured in the XY position. Each capsule is cushioned by a Rycote® Lyre® "shock mount" system that provides isolation from vibration, shock or impact.
Digital switching on the rear of the SVMX allows the user to control level settings (-10 dB or +20 dB), high-pass filter (0/75/150 Hz) and an innovative high-pass boost (+6 dB @ XHz) for improved dialogue intelligibility.
In addition to the standard 3.5mm stereo output with RF shielding, the SVMX is the first microphone in the VideoMic series to offer professional level symmetrical outputs available on the side of the microphone body.
External physical and wind protection for the sensitive capsules is provided by the included pop filter dome structure. A windproof fur protection is likewise included.
