Description
The Venus Optics Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D is the perfect lens for filmmakers with full-frame cameras and Sony E bayonet cameras. It is incredibly bright, provides a wide field of view and an amazing perspective. The Cine version is equipped with standard gears for mounting the Follow Focus module on both rings (aperture and focus). The lightweight, compact design is great for handheld and gimbal shots.
Full frame coverage
The 15mm focal length will work great with cinema cameras and full frame sensors. At the time of its release, the Laowa lens with T/2.1 light transmission was the widest lens on the market with this specification. The image coverage field also works with VistaVision sensors.
Advanced Optics
At the heart of the lens are 12 optical elements arranged in 9 groups. Two aspherical lenses and three extra-low dispersion glasses reduce chromatic aberration, spherical aberration and distortion to a minimum. The Frog Eye Coating on the outer lens prevents flare and ghosting and protects the glass from dust and dirt. The maximum aperture of T/2.1 makes the lens ideal for difficult lighting conditions.
Extremely close encounter
A focusing distance of 15 cm allows filmmakers the flexibility to compose multi-plane shots with a wide perspective and shallow depth of field. Surprise your audience with creativity and unconventional frames.
Distortion? What distortion
The ultra-wide-angle field of view is not the only advantage of the Laowa lens. Zero-D is a guarantee of exceptional image quality and excellent distortion control. The lens is almost completely distortion-free and is ideal for recording commercial architectural, landscape and aerial footage.

The Venus Optics Laowa 15mm T2.1 Zero-D is suitable for productions of any size and momentum. It’s light enough to be great for handheld shots as well as mounted on gimbals, professional sliders and camera taps.
A lens made for filmmakers
In the work of a filmmaker it is difficult to do without ND filters. On the lens you can easily mount all circular filters with a thread diameter of 77 mm. It is also important to have a stepless ring that allows you to change aperture smoothly and without any noise while filming. Both the focus and aperture rings are equipped with film industry standard 0.8 pitch gears, suitable for Cine Follow Focus motors. Manual focusing with this lens is a pleasure. The ring operates impeccably and with a tactile resistance.
