Overview of the Omniscan 450 FS

As the ROV or surface vessel moves, the Omniscan 450 FS is ideally suited for forward-looking ROV applications. The transducer and electronics are housed in a single enclosure with an Ethernet + power interface. Two enclosure options are available for 100m or 300m depth rating. SonarView paints the image of the scanned area of the sea floor, providing excellent situational awareness in the murkiest conditions.

Scanning Capabilities

In the case of a surface vessel with GPS or an ROV with DVL, scanning is both translational and rotational. For underwater vehicles without positioning information, Omniscans Doppler Position Tracking can be used for translational information in the direction of the beam. By using a pair of Omniscan 450 FS unitsone forward and one positioned 90 degrees to either sidefull 2D motion tracking is available. This setup also enables position hold mode.

Mounting Requirements

To mount the sonar to the M2 Pro Max, you will also need the quick mounting bracket, article 131298.
