The new design features dual optical elements, a larger 6” front Fresnel lens, improved ventilation, and minimized light leaks, making this the ultimate Bowens Mount Fresnel.

The Fresnel 2X features a dual lens design. The rear lens focuses and magnifies the beam onto the larger 6” front Fresnel lens, this achieves zero light waste. Our dual lens optical design makes the Fresnel 2X twice powerful as the original Aputure Fresnel, and makes the 120D II up to 14 times brighter, breathing new life into your lights.

By utilizing a new rotating barrel design, the Fresnel 2X creates an intuitive user experience,similar to a camera lens. The smooth focus throw gives users an ability to accurately finesse the beam angle of their light source, allowing you to easily spot or flood your light with a simple twist.

The Fresnel 2X is adaptable to any situation. With its Bowens Mount design, this fresnel can be attached to a myriad of lights. The 7” front ring accepts the Aputure Barndoors, meaning your light shaping options are endless. With the included carrying case, the Fresnel 2X can easily follow you, wherever your shoots may take you.

One thing I like a lot about the COB Light Storm fixtures is how versatile they are with the Bowens mount. We have so many options for modifiers it’s really great. The Aputure fresnel is one of the accessories.

The original was pretty good and Aputure now has a new updated version. The Aputure Fresnel 2X. It can be used with the 120 and 300 COB Light Storm fixtures. Due to that versatile Bowens mount. At IBC Ted from Aputure showed several new modifiers including a new Leko projection that fits on the COB Light Storms. The Leko isn’t available yet but is highly anticipated for sure.

The focusing system is also updated. Instead of loosening a locking knob and pulling to focus it now has a twisting motion that is much easier to perform and more precise as well. The range is from 12 to 40 degrees spot to flood. The dual lens design with inner K9 Optical lens and outer 6 inches large Fresnel lens bringing more output to your COB light.

Another nice upgrade is you don’t need to lock it in place as it holds its position. It has a very nice feel to it. A simple turn focuses the light. Also, I noticed no light leak from the sides since the body has no openings other than on the back.
