Description
The Fotopro X-go Chameleon series of tripods is designed for photographers who require equipment of the highest quality and functionality, while maintaining a compact size and mobility. It is the ideal choice for travellers and landscape photographers using lighter DSLR or mirrorless cameras.
Functional and compact kit
The X-go Chameleon is a robust aluminium tripod equipped with a ball head and monopod function, and is the ‘smaller brother’ of the Fotopro X-go Predator series tripod.
The maximum working height of the tripod with the head installed is 157.5 cm. At the same time, thanks to its reverse folding capability, the X-go Chameleon has a compact transport size of only 43 cm.
The tripod has a three-stage leg tilt system, which consists of four sections. The individual sections are locked in place with a convenient to use swivel clamp system called T-Lock.
The tripod’s legs are studded with spikes, onto which the supplied rubber non-slip tips can be fitted. This ensures the best grip, regardless of the ground.
The X-go Chameleon tripod is equipped with a central column with a reverse clamping function. This solution is particularly useful for macro photography and shots from the so-called “frog perspective”. The thread on the bottom of the column allows another head or hook to be installed on it, from which additional weight can be hung to improve the stability of the tripod.
A double security system protects against accidental lowering of the column.
Any head with a 3/8″ or 1/4″ mounting thread can be mounted on the tripod, to change the thread you need to reposition the screw with the included spanner.
Durable ball head with up to 8kg load capacity!
Tripods from the X-go Chameleon line are equipped with the FPH-52Q ball head with Arca Swiss standard quick-mount plate. The head has a set of three spirit levels, making it easy to level the camera, and a quick release lock to prevent accidental unplugging of mounted equipment.
The FPH-52Q has two precise and smoothly operating knobs. One is used to lock and adjust the clamping force of the ball, while the other locks the movement of the rotating head base, which additionally has a 360° scale for easy panning.
The head is secured against accidental unscrewing from the tripod by a screw, tightened with the included spanner.
Two in one – monopod function
Chameleon is more than just a tripod. It also conceals a monopod function. After unscrewing one of the legs and the central column, you get a fully usable monopod with a height of 155.5 cm, with a comfortable rubber grip.
