Release of Samyang 12mm F2.0 NCS CS will fill in the market gap in terms of lenses intended for APS-C mirrorless cameras with such a large angle of view and brightness. The lens has been designed for cameras fitted with a high resolution sensor (above 24 mega-pixels). Samyang Optics company has accustomed its clients to great quality optics offered at affordable prices. And this is also the case with 12 mm F2.0 NCS CS lens which provides technical parameters and potential that can easily compete with the best wide-angle prime and zoom lenses available on the market.
Samyang 12mm F2.0 NCS CS gives wide angle of view amounting to 98.9 degree and rectilinear image mapping function. Owing to a large aperture range of f/2.0, the lens can be a useful shooting device and offer high image quality even in poor lightning conditions. Optical construction of the lens comprises 12 elements divided into 10 groups, these components include one aspherical lens (ASP) and one hybrid aspherical lens (H-ASP). There are also three lenses made of ED glass with extremely low dispersion factor. Technologically, 12mm NCS CS lens is the most advanced device branded with Samyang logo.
Samyang 12mm F2.0 NCS CS is another (alongside with Samyang 10mm) lens with nanocrystal anti-reflective coating applied. This time, however, the NCS coating covers two lens elements. This type of coating gives smaller reflection factor than (U)MC layers and ideally sits on the lens element's surface due to the very application process. Benefits of using the nanocrystal cover, include: much better light transmission, higher resistance to reflections and higher contrast, which adds to optical resolution of the lens.
Samyang 12mm F2.0 NCS CS is a perfect lens for landscape photography and can be useful in interior and architecture photography or astrophotography. The product comes with a removable lens hood and 67mm filter mount. Its light weight (245g) and compact shapes make it a perfect solution for mirrorless cameras of smaller sizes. After you connect it to a camera with APS-C sensor its field of vision will correspond to the small image lens with the focal length of 18mm. Thanks to this feature combined with the aperture of 2.0, the lens is a perfect addition to non-full frame cameras.
