Wide or…. very wide
The Venus Optics Laowa C-Dreamer 12-24mm f/5.6 is a zoom lens for Canon full-frame mirrorless cameras with RF mount. It is designed for filmmakers who value ultra-mobility. With a zoom range of 12 to 24mm, it is perfect for landscape and travel photography. It makes it easy to get the perfect perspective whether you’re shooting stills or vlogging.
Advanced optics
With the Venus Optics Laowa C-Dreamer 12-24 mm f/5.6, your true-to-life photographs will be full of detail, contrast and deep colours. At the heart of the lens are up to 15 optical elements, arranged in 11 groups. All are characterised by high quality and precision workmanship. The use of 2 aspherical lenses and 3 extra-low dispersion (ED) glass elements effectively corrects spherical and chromatic aberration.
Stable minimum aperture of f/5.6
You will be hard pressed to find another lens that offers such an affordable compact size and… Yes – no matter what focal length you set, the aperture remains constant! A constant brightness level at different zoom settings will give you greater control over depth of field. Combined with the extremely short focus distance, you will create beautiful frames with shallow depth of field.
The ideal travel companion
Varifocal lenses offer great versatility for creatives, but they can also weigh a lot. Compared to many competitors offering a 12-24mm zoom range, this model stands out for its light weight (497g) and compact dimensions (Ø69.4mm x 91.6mm). Combined with the high-quality optics encapsulated inside, the lens will allow you to capture the world around you in every corner you reach!
The magic of landscapes
The field of view of the Venus Optics Laowa C-Dreamer 12-24 mm f/5.6 lens covers 121.9º at 12 mm focal length and 84º at 24 mm. This guarantees enormous freedom in composing ultra-wide, panoramic landscape shots and images of grand buildings. Vast fields, monumental architecture, nature, but also cramped interiors – you gain enormous flexibility with this glass!
Beautiful 10-point stars
Want to spice up your photos with eye-catching special effects? Venus Optics Laowa has the recipe for that! With a specially designed aperture consisting of five straight leaves, you can achieve the effect of aesthetically pleasing and well-defined 10-point “stars” that appear in place of the sun or other light sources (such as street lamps).
Frog eye coating
We all know what a fisheye is, but have you ever heard of a frog’s eye! The Venus Optics Laowa C-Dreamer 12-24 mm f/5.6 lens for Canon RF is coated with a special FEC protective coating. In English, this abbreviation is developed as ‘Frog Eye Coating’, which we can translate as ‘frog eye coating’. This unique material repels water and dust. It thus provides an extra layer of lens protection that traditional coatings used in competing products do not offer.
Polished to the last detail
Great value for money is not everything. The Venus Optics Laowa C-Dreamer 12-24 mm f/5.6 lens for Canon RF also stands out for its appearance. Its design is in keeping with the eye-pleasing styling that has become a trademark of the brand over the years. The timeless elegance, the black housing with its distinctive blue stripe, the meticulous finish and the attention to detail provide an amazing aesthetic experience.
